GNU/Linux is a free (as in free speech) operating system, distributed under GPL General Public License.
GNU/Linux can be used on servers and desktops. You can use the EACTS Database Software on Linux and save money on the licenses, since you can use GNU/Linux for free. The DataCollectionSoftware is being developed under GNU/Linux.
