How to associate the Jar file with Java

Please note: This instruction refers to the Windows XP system.

If you can't start the software with a double-click, please take following steps:

  1. Read the article starting the software from CLI. If you're not able to start the software in the command-line, following rest of this instruction is pointless.
  2. Start → All programs → Accessories → Windows Explorer
  3. Tools → Folder Options...
  4. File types
  5. Locate the JAR file name extension and select it
  6. Click “Change“
  7. Select Java(TM) 2 Platform Standard Edition binary
  8. Click “OK”
