In order to create desired reports (e.g. primary reports), it is necessary to determine the most important (or significant) procedure for specific patient. Is is done be choosing the "mortality assigned to" field. Mortality can be assigned to one of the primary procedures from patient's operations.

By definition, the death is assigned to the procedure chosen by mortality assigned to.
